who the fuck thinks its a crime - suicide is a result of mental illness - more awareness is needed - hope people who have mental illness & is contemplating suicide needs to know there is a way out & help is at hand

It's not a crime... It's sometimes sickness because of the body chemicals misfunctioning... sometimes it's a path resulted by hopelessness. a positive mind wouldn't choose to take that path...

No point in prosecuting it as a crime. That would if anything make them more likely to attempt again. More productive to get them some help.

I think it's a sensible act to someone who is broken on the inside. Of course it will destroy those who love you, so in that aspect it could be considered a crime. It is in it's essence a selfish act. But if you were on fire, wouldn't you try to put yourself out? Wouldn't anything else be better than burning to death?
