Do you find it hard to reciprocate emotions, or have trouble with inter personal relationships because you can't ever invest equally emotionally?

I know someone like that. Even if they do like someone, sooner or later they start resenting them for some reason. I want to know your experiences in this matter because I'm concerned about their mental health.
