Some cultures have hospitality commanded by their very religion (none of which dominate N. American culture). Others are simply hospitable from secular values, and manage to do so better than Westerners. Europe and Latin America are Western, but I think North America comes in dead last.

Edit: perhaps I should have explained that hospitality isn't the same as niceness, firendliness, courtesy, "good experiences" or how much capital an entire country donates to another

My sister has lived in Germany for many years. She said that out of all the people she knows there that have visited America, not a single one of them had any bad experiences here.

U talking about how welcoming we are to immigrants?
Speaking as a born Canadian, we are much too welcoming!!
@Wiseacre no, but everyone seems to be missing the point

@ImperialAerosolKidFromEP maybe u should reframe ur q!
@Wiseacre again?

This is too much of a vague statement

American is a blended culture that unites so many backgrounds

Not everyone is nice, as not everyone is mean
We as people are like dice, you never know where you will land with some.

@iQuit So true!

Hospitable ?? Why I'll crack a beer open and run you over with my oversized Pickup truck...
Tatsumi · 31-35, M
I dunno. I've heard a lot of things about France.

@Tatsumi Include Finland with that.

It depends on the person and the region they’re from. Southerns and mid westerners are known for their hospitality. It might be different in the north or the west.

@SW-User They are nice "down south," 👿but get meaner than hell if you don't "believe" they way they do!
pinklightsocket · 51-55, F
read the way of the bull by leo buscaglia (sp) i think we are very inhospitable
@pinklightsocket thanks for the tip

If you're including Canada and Mexico in with 'North America', you got some seriously incorrect facts, potstirrer.
@SW-User I consider .mx to be Central/Latin America

@ImperialAerosolKidFromEP Aah. Then you also need a geography lesson.

I really don't understand what you're saying.🤔 Hospitality IS the same as being nice and friendly where I came from.
@Peaches well, I don't pretend to have a deep understanding of it since I'm, well, N. American. But I think that in places like, say, the Middle East, they would see it as making real sacrifices and taking on inconveniences.
SW-User
i think US donates a lot compared to other countries.
schizosaint · 41-45, F
Canada is all Ive ever known and people are nice.
SW-User
you haven't been to Newfoundland
@SW-User matter of fact, I have. And they're the youngest part of the continent. I suspect they where much more hospitable in 1975 and even more so in 1949
Subsumedpat · 36-40, M
North America is not one culture
