Is it true that apples in America taste horrible?

@SW-User I live in the uk and the apples just tast like apples to me 😂 but I heard many apples in the US taste waxy and dry and aren't flavourful

@Starsandfire I have orchards within a couple hours of me where I've seen people eat them right from the tree. I have two trees growing in my back yard. someone who lives in the middle of kansas, particularly in the dead of winter may not have nearly as much in options or flavor experiences.
