Well as the question states. If you could ask one anything, what would you ask? And not just a single question either.

Why am I limited to one question. The first question I ask a spirit is its name.

@TheEight The point is that if you encounter one you had better be ready for it and first question is what is your name. The name is indicative of what it is.

Although, normally those are considered demons, not just random spirits.
