So. You've won a 1 minute trolley dash around the foodstore !

Assuming there are probably rules around booze and cigarettes.
What are you gunning for ?

Some good responses. Many with similar themes !

So check this out. According to a site called food52.com/blog/14407

Most expensive foodstuffs found on the average supermarket shopfloor include :

Saffron at around $150 an ounce.
Vanilla beans....which i have to say i've never heard of ! i'm wondering if they meant Vanilla Pods (?) at around $500 a pound

White Alba truffles up to approx. $1000 an ounce !
Nuts seem to feature in the expensive bracket too ! Pine nuts; Almonds and Walnuts at around $12 a pound. Almonds at around the same. Pine nuts at around $23 a pound !

along with all the usual stuff you'd expect to see.
Artichoke hearts; Creme fraiche; cultured butter; Caviar at about $9000 a kilo !Sun dried tomatoes; Parmesan cheese; dried Cherries etc.

so, you know.....just in case the chance should come your way, now you know what to look out for !

@Picklebobble2 I have saffron, quite a bit of it and from a saffron farm, what they sell in the stores is not the best kind, it's a cheap version. Real vanilla would be worth grabbing, the price has gone up greatly in the past year or so. Walnuts would be good too, and organic butter.

@cherokeepatti i thought it was a fun question to ask 😄
I think you're right ! lots of expense in some of those items !!
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@Picklebobble2 I'm baking low-carb versions of desserts and cakes so I'd want to grab some of those ingredients, they are kind of expensive. Almond flour, hazelnut flour, coconut flour....one minute wouldn't be long enough to grab what I cook with.

The spice section, probably the highest monetary value that'll fit in the cart.

Oh wait, maybe all the gift cards?
@KingofPizza2 Cashews, too- maybe.

@OkayBye Good idea, plus I'd actually eat those. Not sure what I'd do with 30 little canisters of tarragon. I don't think the black market for spices is particularly robust.

Fresh fish if the store has good clean fish, otherwise free-range chicken.
FurryFace · 61-69, M
@cherokeepatti lol sounds like the chicken has great freedom before its Death , kinda sucks for the chicken , wait a min ! don't we live kinda like that too ?
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@FurryFace Better than raising the chickens in a building with no room to walk, and never see sunshine or eat fresh grass....they will pull each other's feathers out in frustration till they have bald spots.
