Today I was literally forced into a corner and told off and belittled by a male colleague for doing the same thing he had done a few hours earlier

Report him. That is harrassment and the law protects you from it. Even if nothing happens to him now, cumalatively it can send him walking. If you dont feel comfortable directly reporting it and have an anonymous ethics line go that route. But do something. It will empower you. Good luck. What an asshole.

He better be careful...witnesses plus he is creating a hostile work enviroment. Plus you could claim harrassment because you are female. Go to HR...he could potentially lose his job.

Not really. It's unprofessional. You need to talk about this to the administration and determine what you can do.

Although I understand why he would yell at you for making mistakes. But forced into a corner? Come on now...

If this is a fantasy, it should be mentioned.

@Miram no fantasy, this is real, bullying behaviour from nursing staff. You can read my comment below if you're interested in details (I doubt you are) but it was extremely unfair. Managers are aware but just laughed because he's leaving soon anyway

@Starsandfire Oh, one of those. I remember doing my medic rotations and before male nurses became more prevalent many of the nurses would complain about those bitches who didn't want to get their white uniforms (my age again) dirty. Guess wearing scrubs doesn't help.

@SageWanderer yeah. Unfortunately 99% of the nurses I work with won't lift a finger. Which is interesting because they also do the staff handovers when they quite often haven't spoken to their patients once! Bloody ridiculous.
