What is the storage area of a station wagon/SUV called?

The storage area of a car is called a trunk (or boot, if you're Brit). What is the storage area of a station wagon/SUV called?

I like the terminology my niece used/perhaps invented - there's 'the front' (driver area), 'the back' (passenger, full seats), and 'the way back' (cargo area). although I think the official name is normally 'cargo area' or 'third row' if seats can be had.

@SW-User We say "way back" too! Seems to work for us, altho sometimes I say "hatch," depending on what it is im talking about.

@SW-User No. A station wagon isn't a truck. And a truck bed is open.
