Are you currently seeking employment?

This is not a "how to" post on writing perfect resume's or cover letters. (there are so many You Tube/Google apps. that covers just about everything having to do with the application/interview process. However, as a past employer I like to keep abreast of current best practices or "tricks of the trade" in the job market.

Today I came across a free app. that could prove invaluable to the job applicant. It's called, "Grammarly.com"...Much like spell check it identify's and corrects "You're" (Your) grammatical errors automatically. While I'm a pretty good writer my grammar skills suck so hopefully this will help someone else.

Also since I'm on the subject, I'd like to make a suggestion. Don't let poor writing skills and poor computer skills hold you back from going after that "dream job" One of my best hires EVER was a middle aged housekeeper, this woman could barely write her own name so I was dumbfounded when she applied for a position on my team. Prior to our interview, I observed this woman closely. I was amazed by her interactions with patients in vegetative states, (or semi vegetative states) She had this uncanny skill for getting responses from patients that other disciplines could not, e.g. PT's, OT's and psych. teams. It was amazing, and goes to show that if you believe enough in yourself, others will start believing in YOU!

Yes, thanks for the tips. Just wish you had advice on how to detect bad management before you say yes to the job.
@Hope70 I would absolutely love to tackle that one sometime soon, I will note your username and let you know if/when I do. Thanks for a great idea.

Unfortunately there are people who are good at their jobs but have no people or management skills which makes bad supervisors. I can count many occasions this has happened to me. How people get into these positions that have no skills is beyond me and have no business being over people. I honestly think I was a better choice then most of them because I'm a people person. Having people who are intimidating, rude, demeaning is not the way to go.
