If you text someone asking a serious question about your relationship and they read it and ignore yet are online the whole time what do you do?

Seriously trying not to get angry
firefall · 61-69, M
They might be busy with things & not free to respond, even if they have time to read the message. Or considering the appropriate response. Or freaked out & unable to think of the right response.

Or just being a dumbshit, of course :( I know it's damn annoying.

@Adelh91: how long are we talking?
AliceMortem · 31-35, F
@firefall: just under 2 hours now
firefall · 61-69, M
@Adelh91: oh, that's ... frustrating, but I can definitely see having fleshlife crisis that long
DomMan67 · 56-60, M
It depends on how much time has passed. The person may have seen the message but isn't in a situation where he / she can reply in an appropriate well thought out way. He / she may be waiting until they have some alone time so they can reply appropriately.
AliceMortem · 31-35, F
He's alone at home and he's had the chat open the whole time. It's been at least an hour since he responded and it's a make or break question

@Adelh91: I suspect by now you have either got a response or he truly is just ignoring it. I have no idea what app you are using or if it is possible to have the chat open and not actually be there. I'm guilty of appearing logged into SW and leaving it open in a browser tab when I'm not actually viewing it.

It sounds like things have been dying for some time though based on your other responses so I doubt it is so innocent considering the circumstances but I hope you got the response you are hoping for.
HaHLoBravado · 36-40, M
He may just need time to think things over. I know we like things instant these days but we aren't inclined to respond right away just bcoz we got the message. Goes for u too, not a shot.
AliceMortem · 31-35, F
I'm guessing he's thinking of a reply. Either that or he doesn't care at all
HaHLoBravado · 36-40, M
@Adelh91: He may be a little upset (don't know what happened) and s now taking a personal moment to cool down and think straight. Sometimes u just gotta walk away, u kno..
Sometimes ppl get busy behind the scenes with everyday life and even tho they know they have a text to respond to they cant. Its nothing personal against you. Give it a little while.
AliceMortem · 31-35, F
I asked him if he wanted to end it as he's been off with me for a while and he read it year didn't reply and was online the whole time. I texted him after that saying "can you say something at least" and it came up as read straight away which means he's had our chat open the whole time
curiosi · 61-69, F
I am a person who has to "process" things, it can take me a long time to respond because I have to work through my response in my head. I would assume others are the same.
AliceMortem · 31-35, F
I hope that's the case but it's been over an hour and he's had the chat open the whole time
Local · 51-55, M
Like many others said. Maybe they are caught with other messages or other things at that time. But it is always better to say "I will come back later to this". This is the least that should be done.

It happends to me often. That ppl ignore me.. I learned to let it go.. cause my imagination is too Wilde..

@firefall: haha both and all the others
cycleman · 61-69, M
I'd stop considering what other think or feel and start taking my position and standing by what I believe is correct.
Jackaloftheazuresand · 26-30, M
Some people have a crippling anxiety about responding to others, if he's done this before then you can assume this is his case.
Virgo79 · 61-69, M
Be glad your not a man trying to ask a question like that
AliceMortem · 31-35, F
What?
Virgo79 · 61-69, M
Yea, it's that perv comlpex.

Respect their privacy?
@Adelh91: Does it really matter? You know the answer already. Let it be and start moving on.
AliceMortem · 31-35, F
@kekobaka: well no I don't do I, because he hasn't said it. Why do men do this bullshit?
@Adelh91: The answer is obvious he doesn't respect you enough to treat you like you deserve. Why let yourself be treated that way?
worndown · 56-60, F
it could be he's thinking about it,but he should at least say something.I wouldnt have the patience to wait for an answer.
