Is dyeing black, curly hair a lighter shade of brown a good idea?

I really want to do something new with my hair but I don't want to ruin it. I was thinking of going up to a dark caramel color, but I fear it'd make my occasional frizz much more apparent. I've never dyed it before, so I'm very iffy.

I recommend getting it done professionally, especially for virgin hair. Black hair can't be dyed, it has to be lightened which is a harsher process. If done properly, you shouldn't have any issues with extra frizz.

Many people I know have done that, mostly ombre..I plan to streak my hair too but I'm not sure lol
