The Challenge

I hear a lot about how people say they want to be challenged by their partner. Originally I thought it might just have been a couple of people but it seems that it's fairly common.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not criticising it per se; it just confuses me a bit.
For me personally, the last thing I would want to be challenging is a relationship. There are enough things in life that are already challenging. I wouldn't want the place where I'm meant to feel secure, comforted, motivated, encouraged, supported and most of all, loved, to also be challenging. That would do my head in.
What does everyone else think?

I don't mind being challenged, as long as it's not to a duel!😆

I think they mean be kept on there toes and for things to be interesting not challenge in a problems kinda way.

@passingby8 The issue I would find with that is that there aren't a lot of people that would be able to do that naturally. For me, it's incredibly important for someone to appreciate me as I am and not to exclude that in favour of effort and spontaneity. Don't get me wrong, those things are important, but they shouldn't be the focus. The things you do shouldn't be as important as who you do them with.
