Has your view about "Black Lives Matter" changed in the past 30 days ? 🤔✊

Mines has not. It's still the same logo being used to divide. But what's scary is that more and more people are falling for the trick now. If you ask me it's just a distraction. Now it's a brand. It's a culture. It's the norm. I prefer real change. Not image. Let's change the laws. Not remove statues. What do you think. Comments. 🤔

Like all movements, it's starting to choke on its own good intentions as more people come on-board and contaminate the cause with self-interest and a plentiful supply of guilt-funding.

Like the "Me Too" movement that broadened its focus to a point of holding up all accusing women as saints, Black Lives Matter is trying to impose a purity test of 21st century values on anyone who deserves to be remembered with a statue. And, as they use any means to impose that test, they will lose some momentum and diverse support.

That being said, calibrating the scales of justice for all is still a noble and necessary cause. Reigning back unchecked police power and authority is a social priority. And, recognizing that every human regardless of skin colour deserves the dignity that comes with life no matter how many bad checks they may have written or how fast they attempt to run away is still something that needs our attention.

@MarkPaul Same as feminist movement too. It starts toxic when they hate men.

I have the same opinion. It’s fueling riots and division not solutions. And it’s allowing the media to focus on negativity instead of the positive things that happen on a daily basis in this country. There are more mixed marriages and children from those marriages than ever before yet it seems like they want to fragment society to the point where everyone is hostile, untrusting & won’t sit down & talk to one another. And the riots have hurt a lot of small businesses owned by minorities & put minorities out of jobs. Is that going to help them in any way?

@cherokeepatti W ll the best thing we as a society can do is block out the media. Because if you don't you will become one of their slaves. Guaranteed. 🙂
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@Zonuss No, Zonuss I won’t be their slave. I caught onto them in 1989. The media needs to be held with their feet over the fire for what they are doing.

I know your issue there in America but if this BLM movement is able to free slaves from other country, make it happen. Don't just riot there and burn the cities. It is not how civilised people protest.

There are still slaves in other country such as in the Libya.

Second, I am still having second thoughts of this BLM movement. Is this only represent Black African or other race such as Bangladeshi, Rohingya and India? Because most of their skins are dark too.

If not, to me this movement seems like a retaliation to whites (KKK) and slavery (in US).
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@SW-User Interesting thing is that they haven’t even touched on human trafficking or a number of other issues affecting black children. They are more into creating political strife in the USA. The issue of human trafficking will be dealt with soon.

They have morphed into a black Supremacy group in my opinion.
I dont like racial Supremacists.
Zonuss · 41-45, M
@FreeSpirit1 Well it's mixed races. I see shades of the feminist movement here. 🙂

Yes, in multiple ways. As I've seen that it absolutely doesn't mean the same thing to different people.

Some BLM supporters, I can absolutely agree with what they're stating, and some are saying this is what it means, and I agree with that, and could get behind it.

Other BLM supporters, I have absolutely no agreement with, as they have seemingly claimed all founding fathers are evil, and refuse to use any context with history, judging everyone based only on modern ethical standards of what if they did this today.

And one whom has preached that all police officer are evil based on their choice to continue to do their job and their choice of a career field.

Also, I haven't confirmed this, but I've heard one person talking about how they've attacked and damaged a famous abolitionist statue, whom was trying to free every one before it became the cool thing to do, and fought for the Union. But I think people this day and age are attacking first and asking questions later.

I think it's the norm for both politicians and media to have knee-jerk reactions that fail to address what's underlying and may require deep work. I prefer real change too.

I used to not care about it but now I support it.

And so far change has happened.

Like the end of no knock warrants.

Hard to know what to do with a leaderless movement. I suspect it will pass and community groups and interest groups will do some real work behind the scenes, but I know nothing.
Zonuss · 41-45, M
@SW-User Explain.
SW-User
@Zonuss Everyone from all sides are to ready to tell people what the problem is instead of listening to each other. A little give and take will go a long way.
Zonuss · 41-45, M
@SW-User I agree.
SW-User
No, i still support it.
SW-User
@Zonuss They’re standing up against police brutality and making changes.
Zonuss · 41-45, M
@SW-User Ok. But what about systemic changes. Like to end racial profiling. Hold local media news outlets responsible for this too. And harassment. There are a lot of other issues that needs to be addressed.
SW-User
@Zonuss True. hopefully the movement does so in the near future.

@MarmeeMarch This is much bigger than that. Let's talk about what's going on right now. You're too stuck in a mental rut to be articulate here. Oh well. 🙂
