Why do dads wanna arm wrestle with their daughter's boyfriend?

I think it’s to see if they are a better man for their daughter that’s going replace their daughters safety net, basically to see if you mean it and are strong enough to replace their fathers

However, it always is interesting when I say to any potential boyfriend courting one of my girls, "No, I haven't arm wrestled, since I broke a bloke's arm doing it."

Because I am slightly built they always laugh. I don't because it is true:)

Seems a bit outdated. My dad and husband just play video games or fish when they need to be competitive with one another. 😂
