Ideas on boosting confidence and less dependance?

I think that the way I've developed confidence is through my accomplishments. If you're trying to be less dependant on someone, then you really just need to cut that shit off real quick. I've been there before. Kinda like...you always want to spend time with them, you always wanna text them and see how they're doing, you always want to see them, etc. I spent a long time stuck there. I'd leave and then just come back because being in contact with him was too tempting.

But one day, I just decided that I wasn't going to be a pathetic, pitiful little human being. I wasn't going to put in more than they did, and I definitely wasn't going to sacrifice myself or be the martyr. I wasn't going to stick around and hope that one day, they'd learn to appreciate me and apologise for not committing. So yeah, I just deadass stopped replying to their messages and calls for about two or three months. I made myself busy and resisted the urge to go back, and after those months, I didn't even feel that urge anymore.
