Excellent question, I think my source of confidence comes from two things.
First the fact that given my life experiences, I have come to not only know my limits but also what I am capable of. And that self-awareness helps me in making solid choices.
Second, though it took a very long time, I am comfortable with who I am as well as who I am not. And that's very important with regards to confidence.
