Speaking as someone with anxiety I'd say just be there and try to understand that anxiety can stop us doing everyday things that people without anxiety take for granted.
Usually I talk them down and just have them focus on breathing and physically comfort them. You being there and saying it will be okay is calming and reassuring.

I listen as long as they need. Then when asked for any advice I break down the issues into parts. Things we have control over and things we don’t. Then work on possible solutions and tools for managing the left over anxiety.
