How can I get through to her? I don't want to live in a world she isn't in but she's knowingly killing herself with alcohol and drugs.

Nobody can. She must decide on her own that the alcohol and drugs are a problem. All you can do is suffer and wait or choose to move on.

@Anonymartyr I am afraid that my only option is to let her drown and reach for help when she's ready. It kills me but maybe I need to walk away

@SW-User @SW-User My mother was a heroin addict. It was very hard for anyone to even remain her friend. She did beat heroin but never quite beat alcohol before she died.

I don’t think you can do it. It’s important to get her to a therapist or a rehab program
