Good friends and best friends of either gender are blessings of life.
Good friends, even if not always personal friends of your partner, are always friends of the relationship. As they wish you the best happiness and respect your choices.
Friendzoned "orbiters", men or women, are another kind of fish. Opportunistic ones.
No place for them in a healthy loving team.

@CharlieZ the thing is that she's an old acquaintance of mine, from 11 years ago. And once I asked her out after meeting her again, she turned me down (maybe not remembering me), but then two months later she got into a relationship which ended again 4 months later, and from then on she often spent time with her best male friend (who I consider so, I wouldn't say he's her boyfriend).
