Thoughts on age gap relationships?

I’ve been in one with a large age gap & it was one of the best relationships I’ve ever had. As long as both are adults I don’t see there is a problem. It’s usually those outside the relationship that have the problem anyway 🤷🏻‍♀️

For me, being practical I wouldn’t go past six years for older. For younger I don’t really care for younger men, honestly the youngest I’d date would be someone at my current age. I’d want someone at the same stage in life as I am or at least someone going in a similar pace. I’m not ready for a family or to settle down so dating someone much older can speed up that process or put unnecessary pressure towards areas like wanting a family and stufffff. As for dating younger I’m just not usually attracted to younger men. Either way, I need us to be on the same page and it can be challenging for that to happen if the person is a lot younger or older.

Of course, I’m just stating this without truly knowing how I would react if I do happen to develop feelings for someone past six years or younger than my current age. You never know what you would do in those situations until you’re in them. My parents are 9 years apart 🤷🏽‍♀️ So I don’t think it’s something completely impractical for me to date someone much older, but it’s just not ideal or likely.

I've dated guys half my age and a few were more than half. Obviously I have no problem with age gap relationships, whatever makes one happy works

If you start thinking too much, too often of an age gap it might be the wrong relationship for you. A relationship should, in my beliefs be build around equality.

As a rule of thumb, I wouldn’t want to date anyone old enough to be my parent or young enough to be my kid.

I would want to have someone older than me, but not too much older. Probably between 4 to 8 years.

For me when I was under 25 years old the age gap that I found acceptable was 3-4 years, but when we all get older a wider age gap is perfectly ok. I think it mostly has to do with where two people are at in their lives and their mindset. A 30 year old is going to be in a completely different period of their life than a 20 year old, so that probably wouldn’t work out, but a 28 year old and a 38 year old could probably work out.

I would go maybe 15 years younger. The only problem is, they may want kids.

Hubs is nine years older than me. It isn't so much the difference in ages as it is the difference in life experiences for us.

The oldest guy I dated was ten years older and the youngest was seven years. I don’t date boys I don’t care what their age is.

I feel it is not always that important but if you date someone that is less mature than you or is to set in their ways it can cause issues. It all depends on the person.
