Would you marry someone who looked like a monster just on the surface?

If they were your soulmate on all other levels?
Tatsumi · 31-35, M
Nope. I unabashedly put physical form first. She has to at least look decent before anything else. That's just how guys are, even if they lie and say they don't see outside attractiveness.

@SW-User We are animals, but we're animals with different mating strategies based on differing reproductive resources.

You'll see a lot more ugly guys with hot chicks than ugly chicks with hot guys.

@Tatsumi I agree, that's why I said that looks is the first thing we notice. It's not the only one.
Tatsumi · 31-35, M
@SW-User That kinda skirts around the profound difference between men and women, imo. I'm really of a mind women don't notice looks for look's sake, at all, except in rare instances where the man is a physical incarnation of a God.

Women notice physical attributes as representations of non-physical attributes. Case and point: the dad bod. In what realm of existence is that physically appealing? It's not.

The unattractive physical form is a representation of a non-physical attribute. In that case, father potential.

Women think most men are ugly by default. As dating app and site statistics show. Women rate 80% of men as below average in looks. Statistically false. Men rate 50% of women as below average attractiveness. Statistically true. 50% is the average, right? So, to women, judging namely on physical traits, only 20% of men are average, and prolly only 5%-10% qualify as attractive, more like 1% for hot.

So yeah, women might "notice" looks first, but it doesn't really mean anything to women, since most men are ugly to them by default, anyway, then once the man has demonstrated proper behavior, she suddenly likes his face and body.

Imo.

If I loved them, to me, they'd be beautiful.
Have to get to know them like anyone else.

Good lady :) @SW-User

There is always something beautiful to see when they make you feel beautiful things.

Agreed :)@JustNik

No, I don't believe in the concept of a "one and only" soulmate.
SW-User
What do you mean monster like?
SW-User
Like maybe physically what most people would consider different or not conventional @SW-User

@SW-User Yes if I loved the person
I'd never have talked to them so I'd never know

Somebody one said that if you cut every man's penis off and stuck it on their head we'd all be the same height. I don't necessarily think that's true, but you could probably argue exactly the same point with a woman's heart and looks.
lovingdead · 31-35, M
Maybe, if I were wanting to marry. But I would certainly want to be with them, at least sometimes. I wouldn't want to be with even the perfect person ALL the time.
SW-User
That might change someday if you really love someone. I can’t have anyone in my face with no breathing room either @PhoenixPhail
If they looked like a monster to me, it would be unlikely that I’d get close enough to find out, unless we worked together or something.
