Why is it people say, I want honesty in a realtionship?

Because they don't. They want to be fluffed. They want you to tell them what they want to hear. "Does my butt look big in these pants?" Yes, but I like your big butt!

What? you calling me fat?.....ugh

I don't want that kind of honesty. Besides, my DH is very kind and would not be "honest" if it hurt my feelings.

@CoffeeFirst at least you are honest.

Not always the case. When I say I want honesty that means the harsh and brutal truth.. but people sometimes don’t feel comfortable giving it...some people do but most don’t

@Mikado it's hard not caring, but I work hard at it. Only care with the ones I love.

True... but in my experience it’s been the ones I love that hurt me the most and they are also the ones I expect honesty from so it’s a gamble I guess @Trio57

@Mikado oh yes, the Joy's of the catch 22. But I agree.

Right on to that! People are hypocrites. They preach about honesty and hating liars, but they do not want to hear or accept the truth, they want lies. If you are honest straight up, they are offended, then you are labeled rude, judgmental, on and on - People want sugar coating and flattery not honesty
