What it's like to be married?

Question of every single out there
SW-User
If you find the right person to spend your life with, it will work. Having common interests, enjoy doing the same things, etc., is the glue.
SwampFlower · 31-35, F
It's wonderful. It has made me a less selfish and volatile person. There's also a certain safety in it. I know that we are both stronger together than we are as individuals and that makes the hard parts of life seem way less daunting.
ThePerfectUsername · 70-79, M
Ecstatic at first. Sometime later as the novelty begins to wear off annoying little cracks begin to appear and often worsen to the point where you wonder if you did the right thing. It's at the point or shortly thereafter that you either throw the towel in or realise that it's actually a partnership that requires genuine understanding and give and take on both side if it's to work. And if you really did do the right thing in picking your partner you'll grow and mature together and settle down into the sort of relationship where together to you do anything. I've been married just short of 47 years and the last 10 have been the best and most secure we've ever had.
NiftyWhite · 46-50, F
well if you have problems it’s like a prison. if you’re happy and you picked the right person it’s life as usual and maybe a bit better cause you’re not alone with everything.
exexec · 61-69, C
I like it a lot more than being single. The first 40 years of marriage have been happy. We'll see what the next 40 years bring.
indyjoe · 56-60, M
If it's a good marriage (like mine is) and you're with a good partner (like mine is)...it is the most wonderful thing in the world, much better than being single.
indyjoe · 56-60, M
@sspec Don't know for sure actually, it just comes naturally for us and has from the beginning...we've never had to really "try" or "work" at it, we just clicked and have been clicking ever since.
@indyjoe thanks for responding.
indyjoe · 56-60, M
@sspec Not a problem, my pleasure😉
Eddiesolds · 61-69, M
It was nice for awhile
ncgremlin · 56-60, M
It is nice to have someone to share things with but can be frustrating and difficult at times but still fun and satisfying
Keepitsimple · 51-55, F
No peace and quiet and you always have to discuss things or you’re not a team player.

well, when I was married it was fine for a few years, the tax breaks were nice.
It's a huge commitment and responsibility that is not for everyone.
Good times and bad times, just like anything else

It was good until it wasn’t.
Success · 26-30, F
It's good. Do your research first.
Aidan · 26-30
Sounds stressful to me
With the right person, both of you working together for a cook in goal, it's wonderful.

With the wrong person, or when things go bad, there is no deeper pit of hell.
It's like a rollercoaster ride, you have your ups and downs, twists and turns... which creates all kinds of emotions... hold on tight and enjoy the ride
GerOttman · 61-69, M
31 years now. It's been a wild ride but I would not have missed a minute of it for any price! It is what it is, it's mostly what you make it.
Mindwonder · 36-40, F
It can be a challenging yet rewarding thing if it is keep sacre in your eyes and heart
It's not the ups and down so much as it is the jerks.
