What is good and nice way to break up with someone when you no longer want to be with them?

So things are going good to him in his mind but in my mind I’m thinking of way to leave because I don’t see no change in our relationship and no growth for him so I’m seriously thinking about leaving him he’s done a few things for me that I regret letting him do but I don’t want to feel bad in leaving either. I don’t want to be around him he talks to much he’s annoying we don’t have growth conversations he doesn’t take care of his kids and he doesn’t like helping his mom and he don’t pay any bills should I break up with him before or after my birthday ? He’s been saving for it but I’d rather him take his money and go his child needs $159 for a class n he hasn’t mentioned doing it not once I’d rather him take his money and spend it on his daughter and I just don’t like him anymore
