What is your advice to me?

My boyfriend and I have been together for 5 months, we’re super serious about each other and when we’re together he makes me feel like the happiest person in the world. We’re quite communicative and both independent, as well as loyal.
However I haven’t seen him often lately, he just moved and then went out of town for work for 2 weeks straight. Now he’s headed out of town again for a cousin’s wedding that I wasn’t able to go to.
He has bad texting habits, combined with sketchy service and being busy, I don’t get to phone him or facetime. We have only ever texted. And a handful of times each day. He often takes hours to respond.
I haven’t been intimate with him in over a month. The times I saw him last (two times) he’s taken me on a date since we haven’t seen each other much. I live with my parents and he lives out of town so I haven’t been to his new place at all. He also sounds very self conscious about it as it’s a cheap place, I think he’s avoiding taking me there.
In addition to that I’m kind of worried about his room mate, Ben. Ben broke my boyfriend up with a previous girlfriend- actually one my boyfriend was engaged to, apparently she was toxic (I can’t confirm this. My boyfriend was totally distraught, he says he doesn’t know how accurate Ben was, and blamed himself.) Also, since moving in with Ben, my boyfriend has been getting high almost every day, as well as often considering getting drunk. I feel pretty distant and kind of on edge. I feel like i don’t really know what’s going on in my boyfriend’s new home life, and he’s avoiding taking me there. I’m not really suspicious as my boyfriend and I aren’t having any real issues, but I feel... not involved.

He sounds kinda absolutely awful in almost every possible way.

He’s not awful. He’s the nicest person I’ve ever met.@TeirdalinFirefall

You sound like you are drifting apart. Until he makes the effort to close the gap, you will see less and less of him.

Honestly if he can't take you into his home there are some fundamental issues at work. You say he's been getting high, do you like getting high too? Does he ever want to get high with you? I love getting high with people I care about. I usually associate drinking with depression though. I'd work on finding an excuse to make him bring you to his place.

I can’t get high, I have to be home every evening as I live under my parents’ rules. @ash365

Ugh living with parents makes everything awkward and complicated and restricted, I'll never miss it.

I really hate to say it, but it sounds like Ben is pushing him to ditch you, now.
The warning signs are there: proceed with caution.

Let me ask you, is there anything anyone here could actually say that would dictate what action you take?
Talk to him, voice your concerns. Open communication and trust are a must for any relationship to last.
It sounds like a train wreck, tbh. Trust your instincts. If you sense something’s not quite what it seems, you’re probably right. 😒
