under what circumstances would you break up with your partner even though that you still love them?

Beatbox34 · 31-35, M
Once you realize you're worthless to them and they keep treating you like trash without any regard or remorse
There are worse things than cheating ? @Beatbox34
Beatbox34 · 31-35, M
@Spoiledbrat I was accused of cheating when I never cheated. I was told stuff constantly and put down for something I never did.

Ironically I was ignored too and thrown away like a piece of garbage. Trust, respect and love are all equally important in a relationship.

If someone has devoted time for you then you should understand they mean something to you. Unfortunately people take each other's feelings for granted
I agree and I’m sorry you went through that. @Beatbox34

Verbal or emotional abuse. The reluctance to hear and value my thoughts and opinions.
They refuse to make a future with me.
Cheating

I found out his feelings werent true and I wasnt any special. He cheated on me last year. The sooner i detach the better for me.
Colourflame · 18-21, F
@SW-User How did you know that you weren't special anymore to him aside from knowing that he was cheating?
SW-User
@Colourflame so many ways you can find out if your true n genuine love is getting reciprocated or not. Men are clever n cunning but true feelings always show up. I have never been lucky with men he was my last hope. Sad but then its over.

Cheating, for starters. But one thing I’m not going to tolerate, is being abused, physically or emotionally.
So many circumstances...loving someone would never stop me from leaving them

If they cheated or if the relationship was a detrimental to our respective well beings
OceanGuy33 · 51-55, M
Why is it that cheating draws such a line in the sand for so many? There are so many worse ways to treat each other than cheating but it sure leads many peoples biggie item.
Tarxarin · 26-30, M
@OceanGuy33 if someone cheats in me it tells me they have back up plans. They dont consider me a life partner.

Im an artist. And i choose the wrong person ti live life with.

Maybe its not just cheating. Maybe if they could learn from it, grieve and become someone better. Maybe i can forgive. If they earn it.
SW-User
@OceanGuy33 well I’m not one to take a whole lot of mess but I stand by what I’ve already said. It’s a grave sin against your partner and nothing can be any more detrimental to a marriage.
OceanGuy33 · 51-55, M
I’m not defending cheating. It’s on everyone’s big list because of ego. We’ll work through an alcoholic abusive asshole for years! But one cheating mistake and were gone?! Ego!@Tarxarin

I was with a lady for 5 yrs. We were completly in lust with each other, but probably never in love. We eventually broke up, but arguably should have done that after a year when I discovered her cheating on me, and so started cheating on her as well. (childish I know ) On hindsight we were never right for each other. That said the sex was great and there were a few wonderful memories of when the times were good. The prob was that the relationship was never terrible, so we just continued in our flawed but acceptable way. Except for the sex and the good times, probably a waste of 5 yrs.
If they supported a sports team that I cannot stand. In fact I don’t know if I’d still be love with them anymore at that point.

When there is really no point in keeping the relationship and it does not serve to improve on personal growth
Tarxarin · 26-30, M
Does he do little things for you?

Does he try ti show you that he loves you? Do you try that? Does he respect and trust you and vice versa?

I would guess the experience is overall a semi negitive one?

Whats best for you? For him to?

The last girl i dated as much i loved her and regret breaking uo with her and the moment i used to have of wanting her back... i cant say it was the wrong choice. It was the best for both of us.
If I couldn’t tryst them and I don’t mean cheating either.

If they got the infinity gauntlet and wiped out half of the universe
Jk no that'll make me more attracted to them
If it was still 50-50, none whatsoever...

Cheating or losing respect for each other. There's no way back from either.
