Dad was so naive, right?

Went to the store with dad. He needed to pick up somethings for working in the yard. We found what he needed and he headed to the checkout stand. I remembered we needed light bulbs so I went to get the bulbs. I came back and dad was talking with the cashier, she was flirting with him. I walked up said hi and handed her the light bulbs. She smiled at me, said hi, and kept talking to my dad. Here and there she would look at me with a faint smile and when I would smile back at her, her smile got bigger. Dad and her chatted a little more (yes, I talked a little also). Then dad looked at her and said you seem like a very sweet person. Then invited her to our place for the BBQ dinner we are having. She said looked at me, raised eyebrows, faint smile and I smiled back. She turned to him with a big smile and said ok. They exchanged phone numbers and Dad texted her our address. She said she got off work shortly, would head home change and head over. I mentioned we have a hot tub (not knowing much about her) I said she may want to bring a swimsuit or not, either way it would be fine. She said thanks to me and then turned to Dad and said I should be able to be there in about an hour. Dad, smiled and said great, see you then. Then he offered to swing by and pick her up if she wanted. She declined and said she could find the place.

We get out to the truck and said I think she was flirting with you. I laughed, said Dad, she was flirting with you even before I got to the checkout. I was laughing so hard. Anyway, I thought it was cute and wanted to share.

Why is Dad naive? We should be able to make new friends of any age. Maybe they will get serious. I applaud your mature stance during this.

@MikeSp Dad was being naive because he didn't realize she was flirting with him. But yet it was so obvious. Anyway, she did come over and we all had a great time.
I mean if he wasn’t married then all the props to him 🙌🏼

@NoThankYou :) I do, not the first time I've been a wingwoman. There's even been a few times I've made suggestions for him. Some he's liked others he didn't lol
@swimmergirl ahhh okay. You sound like a great daughter

Would be an ideal situation for a man that was not married.

@swimmergirl Wow, I thought he was married since you were his daughter.
