Years ago, sure. But I'm getting to the age where if he hasn't gotten his shit together emotionally and financially, he never will.
Sweetthing · F
Nah, don’t date someone expecting them to change, you should be happy with who they are now.
indyjoe · 56-60, M
@Sweetthing Exactly, that was the point I was getting at. Everyone has quirks, flaws, and imperfections. I have never tried to change anyone. If I wanted to date them and be with them, then I was already impressed and accepted them as they are. If they wanted and tried to make improvements and changes that was fine but it would be their choice and not my requirement. And to be honest, like an old house or antique automobile that has been restored, it will still have imperfections that actually become part of and add to it's character...and people are no different.

Everybody can qualify as a "fixer upper"...nobody is perfect.
Isn't everyone..🤔
DoubleRings · 51-55, F
no. if you can’t accept someone how they are then they weren’t meant for you.
Yes, but it would depend on the return on my investment.

My dear sweet woman. I am so damn decrepit that they are ready to put a demolition sign on me. :P

Biggest mistake people make in a relationship, is that they believe they can "change" the other person.

If I could have marked both of your replies as best answers I would have@indyjoe

@destinysfortune Thank you, that's sweet.☺️

I am well beyond dating age, but learned something along the way.

Don't count on changing someone to fit your desires.
Find someone that meets those desires as is. If the fit isn't perfect, determine if you can live with it or not. If not - move on.

@Budwick If you are single, meet someone you like and want to take them out for dinner or a movie (or whatever) that's a date...a person is never too old to date.

Nope, at my age I’ll be choosy
