Why do so many couples argue about money? Have you experienced this?

Picklebobble2 · 56-60, M
When you get together, life is full of hope for the future.
You have similar goals. And you work toward them together.
But all it takes is a hike in the rent or food pricing or local taxation and suddenly you find yourself arguing over why you can no longer do the additional things you used to enjoy.
And if you have a partner who will indulge in things you don't share, that causes animosity.

Well. Yes and no. My wife likes to say that we never argue about money. Which is most often true. But there are times we argue about what we want to do - and then the cost information gets in there. I always maintain that if money was no object, we would never argue.

Not really... most of the women I've dated have all been savers and fairly conservative with their money (like me).

But I have helped a few out with advice but they we're happy to get a different perspective...

Well except one, but her dad was enabling her to spend more than she brought in.

It’s part of marriage. I’m very frugal about personal items and enjoy saving money. My husband is just the opposite. I fuss about the lessons he’s teaching our son . 🤷🏻‍♀️

Nope I haven't, but then I've never merged money with anyone. I suspect that would lead to extra stresses and difficult discussions.
