My crush flirts with me but talks with/about his ex a lot lately

He blatantly flirts with me btw. Calls me every night, tell my best friend that he likes me, etc..
Him and his ex met over coffee to clear things up. They broke up 3 years ago.
They talked again yesterday and he called me to tell me about it.
He said she matured a lot, and that now they have the same ambitions, and that she is smarter now.
That she said something cute.
And that now he is confused and don't know what to do. That he already hurt her before and he doesn't want to gamble with that.
He also said that she stood by him no matter what and that she was always by his side.
And yes he TOLD me about it on the phone.
I tried to act cool about it and gave him an objective advice and he thanked me ( and low-key switched back to flirting )
But I'm actually really hurt by it :c
I don't know what to think anymore...
