Holy crap. I can't speak for anyone else but when I'm in love with someone, I don't look for the other person to return a "favor." I do things for them because I want to. It gives me pleasure to make my partner happy. Mutual respect and love are part of the foundation of a good relationship. When emotions are in play, a cold business transaction generally doesn't enter the picture.

@SW-User that's the attitude I used to have. Sadly, my attitude or view on love has been soured through the years. Trust me, I'm not happy about my change of view in the least.

@SigmundFraud Maybe you're choosing the wrong people.

@SW-User you could be right.

Yes, if you want to strip it of all its nuances that's exactly what it is. You can't fall in love with a toaster unless you're providing it's end of the transaction too which is why we refer to those kinds of people as disturbed.

If that's true, then why not just stay home alone and please yourself?
SigmundFraud · 46-50, M
@Mamapolo2016 I've definitely considered that option. 🤔

Maybe all concerned would be better off.@SigmundFraud

@Mamapolo2016 maybe.
Sometimes I wanna be Freud but without all the psychoanalyzing, just the cocaine

Some treat it that way, but no, that's not the idea.

It took many heartaches to finally realize this. A relationship cannot be 50/50 like a business deal where both sides get something in exchange. It has to be 100/100 where both people give their all.

mutual agreement to be nice and compliment whenever they give a shit
I think people made it that way. It’s rare that it isn’t.
I believe you've "gone crazy"... 😁

No freud 🙄
SigmundFraud · 46-50, M
@MartinTheFirst trust me, I'd like to believe it's not. I really really would. Many years of marriage have somewhat made me wonder if it is though.
