Do you drive the conversation?

With friends on line or even friends you know I your off line life are you the one to keep the conversation going most of the time? Or if you stop making that initial contact do you just not hear from them for long periods of time.

I usually do not initiate conversations, but I do try to keep them going if they are interesting enough.
