What are the differences between how you and your partner manage personal finances?

He throws money at everything he likes impulsively then freaks out worrying he won't have enough to eat and do other important stuff.

don't have one, but I don't think I could ever settle down with somebody who can't control their spending or have priorities when it comes to money

Thankfully, we manage our finances quite similarly. We're both savers, don't waste money, and prioritise well.

@iMystery sometimes cause he’s obsessive about it and not about other important things. when i say he’s obsessive i mean he is really neurotic about saving on untilities and that alone is annoying. meanwhile i can’t get him to do basic things like retrieve mail.

@iMystery Yep. We came up with a budget, plan & guidelines early on and we stick to it for the most part. Helps that neither of us is real materialistic, and that we both wanted to be mortgage-free ASAP.

We've prob gone out of the lines more since our kids moved out - spending on things that help them out. But we're more comfortable today and helping them is something we enjoy.
