Why did your last relationship fail?

She and another woman both loved me ,,I was not married to either
but one was my ex that I still looked out for ,
The one I loved and would have married ,gave me an ultimatum
I could no longer help my ex ,who is not only the mother of my son
but also a drug addict I did not trust to raise our son alone

So she said I had to cut her loose ,,she knows I help people even when I don't have a kid with them ,,I helped her and her family too

But it was a control thing "if I really love her " or else
Bad word to use with me ,"or else " I will cut my nose off to spite my own face ,,,
Now my sons Mom is doing better ,in her own home finally ,off drugs
and we share our son ,,and I still help her ,but sometimes she helps me

the one with the ultimatum is unhappy ,raising 2 kids basically alone
has to work at night and pay for someone to watch her kids because the Dad wont ,,"He works ,he is tired ,,,but not to tired to game all night ,,

Its sad really ,,,now I am single and free like I told her I would be
and she is miserable ,,and ashamed to face me

I still love her ,,I would have married her were it not for the ultimatum

I now accept now some people come into your life to teach you a lesson
others to change your life forever ,,with her ,,I am still trying to figure out which she was
She would have won had her jealousy not got the best of her

And I still help people ,thats what I do ,,she should have got that

Because I wasn't ready.
