Does true love exist

plungesponge · 41-45, M
The misconception modern society has taught us about true love is that it is strong. So strong that true love is cosmic, ethereal, immortal. True love makes million to one chances happen, says Hollywood. This has all been nonsense. True love echoes forever but it does not live forever. It is the bond between two mortal beings, who care enough to watch each other age and wither, and do their best to make each other happy throughout the twists and turns of a pitiless universe. It echoes forever because it grows between two flawed and fragile beings, it is a hand held in a dark corridor, a shared smile in a storm. It does not change reality at all but it changes perspectives. It doesn't exist at an atomic level but it is the most real thing a mere human can feel. If you experience it, you are lucky, but you'd be a fool to depend on it. True love needs hard work and dedication to stay true.

There are different kind of loves and all of them are true
LyricalOne · F
Yes, but not everyone gets to experience it.
TeAbsolvo · F
Yes, it does. But it's so true, that you have a hard time believing it.

I used to believe that. Now I'm not sure anymore

Certain kinds of love are true...not so sure about romantic love anymore.
ZenKitzune · F
Yeah but it doesn't mean two people staying together forever like most believe.
Miram · 31-35, F
Yes but nothing worthwhile is perfect or/and easy.

Not like the kind in Disney films.
