"When are you getting married"?

If I'm not mistaken, today is the first time I've heard that. Followed by " what are you waiting on".

Umm... Let me build a career for myself so I have something to bring to the table when I DO eventually get married. Thanks...

You don't owe anyone an explanation. You're not obligated to get married, nor is there a deadline for it if you do choose to get married. As for myself, I'm not ever getting married. I don't see the benefit of it.
