Money within relationships...

Just how much does money play a part in dating/relationships. I know there can be creative cheap ways to do things together. But, how much does money play a part when one can afford to do more than the other can?

It can be a delicate balancing act and needs to be seriously discussed to reach a mutual agreement.

@LyricalOne It has seemed that some do not like that type of conversation. Some take it as looking to be a "gold digger" ...etc.
LyricalOne · F
@Phire1 Depends on how you have the conversation and what your intentions are.
Phire1 · 51-55, F
@LyricalOne Lol! I don't know what Their initial intentions were but it eventually showed...

I was never looking for someone else’s money but I didn’t want to have to take care of anyone. He had to keep up with me or contribute pretty equally. That doesn’t mean if he stumbled, he couldn’t lean on me. It just meant, I don’t want to miss out on things because he can’t afford to partake. It may or may not be shallow but it’s my preference.

No part for me. But I need him to be safe and so he has to make enough to be free from me if he needs to.
Phire1 · 51-55, F
@Miram Interesting. I paid for my wedding, and I paid for the divorce. I think it depends on what all is involved...

@Phire1 My answer wasn't aimed at you. It's my experience and I rather we both be safe.

@Miram And I shared part of mine

Man needs to get more than woman. Why? Because woman still needs to take care of the house and the kids. So it will only be fair if the man covers more expenses than the woman.
Phire1 · 51-55, F
@cloudi Not everyone thinks that way

Well if the man doesn't have money the woman can't use him to get the lifestyle she wants. I believe thats how it goes.
Phire1 · 51-55, F
@SW-User I have been the one to have more money, though...
Changing my answer....

Beyond both people having enough to be reliant on the other it really doesn't matter.
