How do people with borderline personality disorder manage relationships?

I recently figured out that I have all of the symptoms and I'm absolutely tired of driving my boyfriend crazy. I love him to death but I'm tired of going crazy and starting fights.

You will find a lot of articles that may be genuinely helpful to you by googling, nevertheless I'm gonna give some tips:

1. Learn "Anger Management". Just google the term and you will find the details.

2. Build high self-esteem. Know that you are loveable.

3. Give the other persons their own space. You don't have to be with your boyfriend 24/7 along with you don't need to know what he is doing 24/7.

4. Start meditating. It's really helpful to control your mind.

5. EQ which means Emotional Quotient, is a thing that needs to be developed. EQ is more important than IQ. A higher EQ will help you build up balanced social and personal life.

Hope this helps you. I pray for you.

Posting again, seriously you want what @basilfawlty89 suggested. DBT is the top way to manage your symptoms and learn emotional regulation.

Thank you so much ! If it works I’m sure my boyfriend will be very thankful too!!!
Will check both of those out when I get off work .

@antisocialbutterfly Keep at it for months, you will get frustrated and find the techniques hard to grasp at first. The key is to practice when you feel okay so you can do it when you're not okay. Good luck!!!

Just starting to read about this. Not an easy matter, at all.
antisocialbutterfly · 22-25, F
No . After I’m done having an episode I return to normal and feel terrible for how I treated him . I keep telling him he should leave me. @sometimeslonelytoo

From what I understand, borderlines live in an all good/all bad world that can be difficult to navigate. At least you acknowledge the issue, so I believe you can beat it.
antisocialbutterfly · 22-25, F
no especially when you feel guilty about being a bitch to your boyfriend when you have an episode
uncalled4 · 56-60, M
@antisocialbutterfly Sounds like you will be fine. The only problem is that people without issues can't understand people who do.
antisocialbutterfly · 22-25, F
he's got a bit of social anxiety...but it's nothing compared to the monsters in my head so to speak...told him he should get off the crazy train while he can
MartinTheFirst · 22-25, M
when you go "crazy" leave the house until you're not.
antisocialbutterfly · 22-25, F
well I don't have a kid
MartinTheFirst · 22-25, M
@antisocialbutterfly so you call your boyfriend "kid"? That's weird.
antisocialbutterfly · 22-25, F
