Works both ways. These time limits are arbitrary based on someone else's experience. Some people need to ask certain questions and get satisfactory answers, and see how the other person behaves in certain situations, how they treat other people, etc. before making a decision.
Some guys are like that too, it's purely subjective, not a matter of gender IMO. I'd rather ponder and spend some time before deciding whether someone is dating material or not, personally.
