What is the true meaning of I love you?

ImpeccablyImperfect · 51-55, F
Hmmmm....good question.
It's tough to describe such deep emotions.

When I say it, I mean that I have an inexplicable feeling, like a warmth or tightening in my deepest core...that seems to get tighter and warmer when I look at him, or when he does certain things, or when I see him smile...it's the same way when I am with my kids and grandkids (albeit in a different way)
Hearing their laughter makes me smile on the inside. Holding them in my arms and breathing in the smell of them makes me nearly tear up....the joy is so overwhelming.
Feeling like I could not even live without them.
The feeling that I wouldn't even want to try.

All of that crunched into three little words haha

To me, it should mean that you care deeply about that person.

You are important, special, precious to me and I want you to be happy

Your welfare means as much to me as my own does.
It means they did something wrong or need something from you

I love you, or I am in love with you? For me there is a huge difference.

To me, it means I care about what happens to you, I want you to be happy and do what I can to make you happy, and I see you, and value you, for who you are, not just for what you can do for me. And I want you to know your own worth, and I'll be here for you whenever you need me, if I possibly can.
It is a 3 word phrase where the subject (I) declares ownership of the object (you) through a feeling of possession (love).

It's just a word. But it can be pulled out in a different way with proper emotions.
Baby don't hurt me...pleasssseeeee
