Why do so many people settle for less than they want/deserve in relationships?

It seems like so many married couples are unhappy and the divorce rate is extremely high. I don’t understand why anyone would commit to spending their life—or even a couple months—with someone that they didn’t love. If you’re not dating to get married and actually spend your life together, you’re dating to break up.

a lot of it is just lust that they feel. plus with online its easy for people to just cheat and not get caught and look else where for companionship.

Because people want to be relationships and they won't wait for the right person to come along. Also people care more about looks these days than the person, its pretty shittey.
