need a womans insight into a womans feelings

I need your insight ladies, Twice in the past month I am having a discussion with a lady friend and for some reason her feelings get hurt... the topics are things in the news , In the last discussion I sent her links proving the point I was trying to make .. later in the evening I receive a response that I hurt her feeling because I wouldn't drop the discussion ,she never stated to drop it unless the term "we can agree to disagree" means to drop it.. In my misguided thought process I was just trying to help ..

It sounded like you couldn't let the issue go and you had to prove a point and that is why she is hurt. She even said to "agree to disagree" you should have dropped it.

While your fervor is for some things an absolute positive trait, when it comes to women that fervor needs to be toned down. The term "agree to disagree" is supposed to be where the subject gets dropped. For you to continue the line of conversation when she put her gauntlet down is seen as hurtful because you were not respecting her wishes. Then sending her links "to drive home your point" is insulting. Do you want another date or do you want to be right?
