Is it bad to take the edge off with a drink?

AlienZipper · 61-69, M
Not at all. I enjoy a drink even when there's no edge to take off 🍸

I need it tonight@AlienZipper

@RainbowSprinkles What is your favorite drink?
Beebo · M
Not with Kool-Aid it isn't. If with alcohol, that's how alcoholics becomes alcoholics. I haven't drank alcohol in years, and I have no problems dealing with life.

If you do it everyday? Yes you might have a problem.

@RainbowSprinkles OK. I have known a lot of alcoholics and one of their favourite excuses for the first drink of the day is "it takes the edge off".

It can be a warm velvet trap.

One to relax you won't hurt, but when it begins to take more and more to reach that then you can become dependent on the alcohol then it's a problem. I would try other relaxation methods first.

The doctor would probably tell you it’s bad. I’v been doing it for years & have no plans on stopping anytime soon.
ZenKitzune · F
No but if you have to keep doing it then it's not gonna lead anywhere good.
