women are more likely to die of a broken heart... agree ?

In her new book, heart surgeon Dr Nikki Stamp explores how modern medicine is only beginning to understand the connection between body and emotion

“There’s a lot of positive physiology and positive actions that happen in the body when you’re in a relationship. When you have social connection and emotional connection, it seems that our brains recognise that as something that means you’re healthy.”

Unconditional Lovers ... what do you think ?

I think this is a great theory to attempt to find out more about.

I struggle with my emotions...but when I am in love and feel loved and wanted I can completely tell how different I see the world and how it affects my emotions..my physical well being and so forth.

@JaggedLittlePill thanks for the lovely and honest reply .. I discovered that we were made by nature to love someone .. and not ourselves or keep love to ourselves only .. for we rejuvenate only when we impart love to someone ..

I can agree for a short period of time, but it doesn't explain the dysfunctional relationships which are unhealthy. In that case the person would be better off alone, and yet clings to something negative. So, it would seem that a relationship does elicit feel good feelings (in a normal situation) but that relationships can also make us feel unhealthy because of their toxicity.
I like my ideas to be challenged, so we don't have to completely agree.
I see Life itself as coming to an agreement. I see that we are all living life in a disagreement only .. and hope you agree with this point .. hahaha
I don't think a mother loves all her children the exact same way.
So what does that mean... Love too can vary in length and breadth and intensity ... and it does not mean that she will only love her first child .. or the fifth that is still suckling her breasts ..
I don't think you have to love everyone the same way,
exactly... who said love for music has to do anything with love for computers ? but why is it that we are made to keep our first love and restricted to keep it for life.. and not allowed to bear another ..
It works for some yes, but it's not my cup of tea.
again you are going down to you and me .. which is not the point here for we are talking generic.. most of our lives are over .. but the question here is should this be followed as a trait ?
The menstrual cycle is biology and the other are emotions.
What if I tell you that everything in this world goes through a similar cycle... be it short or long is our way of timing it ... We call it as seasons when it gets longer .. And you sure must have experienced your mood / emotions are no exceptions to it...
We all have to be free to make it.:)
YES... the freedom to make it... the freedom to make our own rules and live by it .. and not impose our rules or adherence on someone else..
It may not seem like it, but I am enjoying the conversation.
hahahaha... knowing SW, it is just you and me in this room... and not anyone is bothered to check questions beyond 3-4 pages ... and I wish to cherish this conversation, and publish it some day.. for I feel this is what people would really want to read in a daily newspaper..
It doesn't have to continue however.
Well.. that is up to you.. for I know I am for real .. and can be kept in touch in various ways ..

I appreciate you conversing this long on it...very few hang on and it's been quite enjoyable. I should be getting on with a some things but...thank you again. I will ponder your last message again when I have time later!

I know someone in her 30s who needed hospitalization for pericaditis when she fell out with her husband. It happened twice and both times it was triggered by the same cause. Even the heart doctors are confused because she was healthy otherwise.

@SW-User oo.. that's like really getting orphaned and stranded in life.

@in10RjFox I guess. I think more studies should be done to know the causes of heart diseases especially pericarditis. I read in most cases the causes are “unknown”. Besides, when you have a heartbreak, you can sense physical feelings in your chest like a heavy and dull kind of pain. The heart is more than a pump imo.

@SW-User depression and loneliness can harm any part of the body or cause any illness. The mind is so occupied that we stop paying attention to the body and start abusing it.
I have actually seen this more in men. Although according to a recent study more women are likely to die from a heart condition (a normal one not emotion based) if their doctor is male. But I have seen more men just stop living after their spouse dies.
The details are fuzzy cause it depends on what the conduction is from in the first place and the person who is treating it.

@canusernamebemyusername at the end of the day we all need someone to love and care for .. that's being engaged in life. Moment we have no purpose we start to disengage in life and start our journey towards end. Its not a gender based thingy actually..
@in10RjFox I mark this as best answer.

Make me a lover
in10RjFox · M
@Collegegirl23 that's quite easy... just start to love someone .. and don't be fascinated by someone loving you nor await someone to love you ..
