Why is denial so common in relationships?

[c=#002673]Denial of someone cheating. Denial of someone making you look like a fool in general behind your back. If they're bold enough, right to your face. Why?[/c] 🤔

Well people have all kinds of blinders on to try to protect themselves. And sometimes things are just too painful to see..
Not ready to face the reality and the hurt that comes with it.
Maybe it’s not denial maybe they’re just really unaware of it. I do think some people are in denial in relationships, they’re aware of their situation and just don’t want to accept it but I think a lot of people really just don’t realize or know.

Maybe believing that things could be different or better than they obviously appear to be. So self deceiving...[image deleted]

Possibly because attachment is the great fabricator of illusion.

You don’t want to believe or accept it. When you put the trust in that person not to do those things and they spit in your face instead.... it hurts to see the reality
They don’t want to be alone, afraid to admit they failed...again, low self-esteem.

Ego... People don't like to admit that they are wrong...
Denial is common in life
