Because so many mistake lust for love. Plus love isn't simply a feeling, hence the fickleness of humans. It's unselfish commitment and devotion beyond the rough spots.

@ElPhonse Idk. The new and exciting wears off, familiarity breeds contempt, they lust someone else...answers could be endless. I still think the 'majority' of the core cause is human fickleness and selfishness..
