Is it my anxiety or should I ask him?

So I'm dating this guy and things are well...we've been seeing each other for a couple of months now. If you've seen any of my previous posts, he's the Russian guy. Anywho, I find myself being very shy around him still. Our relationship is limited to the weekend basically due to our schedules. He's not very open about feelings or anything. Sometimes I find myself wondering just what in the hell do we have in common and where does he see this going. We have 2 main things in common which is marriage and kids. He's 13 years my senior, mom adores him and he's himself around me--which I appreciate. He has his moments of tenderness like buying me flowers, communicating with me of his past, jokes, intimacy, etc. Idk. Is it my anxiety or should I ask him where he sees this going/what does he think of me?
