Here I am again, staring at you intently, with my eyes closed. Stretching out my hands, wanting to caress your face. It’s 8 pm, the usual time, and you are once again playing your music in your balcony. I listen, then I take it in like the smell of the summer air as it gently blows. I start to hum along with your playing, still with my eyes closed. I grin as I lose myself to this moment. Words then start to pop out like---
“hey, you comin’ or not?”
I drop the book I was reading, forced to open my eyes as someone snapped me out of my trance. Then I am back to reality. Curled up on my bed, no longer reading, with my sister at the door waiting for me to answer. I look at the book… oddly pained to realize the truth.
