I accept it. I’m a bad person.

Mental health is important. It’s a fact, we all know this.

However...

In January my manager went off sick with stress and hasn’t yet come back. We are a small team of people already pushed past our limit, and we’ve been working 50 hour weeks for four months to pick up the work and generally survive our roles. We’re all tired, we’re all upset, we’re all doing things we aren’t trained to do with sometimes literal life or death consequences for the service users. We exist to work, nothing else.

Today we were told that for at least another month our missing team member isn’t coming back, everyone expressed their sympathy. I thought I just thought “oh fuck her” but apparently I said it out loud.

Oh well, just add all the stuff above now with soulless villain position. It was only a matter of time.

Doesn’t make you a bad person at all..it’s reasonable to express your stress.

No you are not a bad person at all I am sure the rest felt the same way but kept it inside and maybe some good will come out of it. If the bosses chipped in to help because if management doesn't do something about it maybe it's a matter of time before more people burn out causing a bigger problem.
@updown2020 Yes that’s true I guess. We’re all on the brink.
