I Am Interested In Politics
Actually, I am not that politically involved. I am a moderate.
But I originally came on here to see if I could find other red diaper babies (=both parents in the Communist Party), especially those who had unhappy childhoods during the 1950s, the so-called "red scare" era in the USA.
Even today, it is hard to get people to talk about these things. My parents never admitted to me that they were in the CP until the last years of their lives. I know that the old CP shut down in 1989, 2 years before the collapse of the Soviet Union. There is a new CP--it has a website--but I know very little about it.
My mother was a die hard Stalinist. If Josef Stalin had had the sense to marry my mother, he and the Soviet Union might still be alive today! No more loyal Party member ever existed than my mother. She sacrificed her whole life to the CP and its Marxist-Leninist goals. And she didn't stop there; she sacrificed me, as well, or at least my well being and happiness.
Please, anyone connected in any way with the old CP....or anyone who lived as I did, under a sadistic personal dictatorship, please post here and let me know. If you even know any old folks who were ever involved with the old CP, please talk to them and see if they'd be willing to message me or post something here.
I believe my mother may have been involved in a strong generational cult-like group within the old CP. It would be wonderful for me to communicate with other people who know something about this, particularly from personal experience.
